  •  Well, now I can say I've been from coast to coast. Well that is I've been to the south coast before, and at the beginning of the month a group of us went up to the north side of Haiti to go see the Citadel (a large fort ) It was a lot of fun, we stayed at a nice hotel on the beach and ate lobster and steak and fresh fruit. Nice beds, hot showers (not very common in Haiti) We drove up friday, went to the citadel on saturday, and left to go home at about 11am sunday. The roads were really bad so it took us about 8 hours each way.

This bridge got half washed out so you have to drive through the river, but people are still using the other half.

  • Repairs Made

Well concerning the accident I had a while ago, I very relieved to say that all is well again! Last Saturday James & Monica from Ohio who had served down here before came for a week and James spent four days restoring what I had destroyed in less then a second.

    Thanks a million James.

I went up the mountain with some of my friends a couple weeks ago to give out some sandals someone had donated. Some of the areas up in the mountains lost a lot in the hurricanes the went through in Sep. And we thought there would be a good place to give out about half of what we were given.

  • Tremers

Hey not much new to write about, but it was kinda cool cause last night we were all getting ready to head off to bed when we heard something like a big truck or train comeing down the road but it wasn't that, cause it came right at us and then the whole house shook for for about 3 seconds and we could hear it leave out the other side of the house.   Pretty cool. No damage or anything was done. but everyone in town felt it and said though they have every so often felt little ones, this was the biggest any of them remember.

    So till next time,

  • Forts and Sunrises

We had visitors down so we had do the tadishonal trip up to The Baptist Mission. ( an mission started a long time ago and has a resturant, a gift shop, a mini zoo, and other stuff.  And is up in the mountains so it is a lot cooler) anyways its an attraction for people unless you've been up there 100 times. I allmost didn't go but we decided we would go do something else too, so I went.
Its called Fort Jack (sorry I don't think thats the right french spelling of Jack but...)

         Fort#2

It was built in 1805  by the Haitians right after they gained their independance.

We were instantly greeted by a bunch of young kids that knew some english (and not much history)
And proceaded to give us guided tours, all the while knowing what they realy wanted was a little tip for there "help"  they pretty much new just a few facts and repeated them over and over the whole time they were with us so it seemed like they were working hard for us.

  • Ups and Downs

So its been a while since I updated, so for what its worth.

Thing had been going on as normal for awhile, busy   then i enjoyed my two week vacation just a little bit ago. It was great to see alot of you guys, i always miss you guys when I'm away.
It was also great that my younger brother got to come down for two weeks. DSC02569#6     DSC02581#1 Then right before he had to leave we were going to go to the beach, and then go over to the DR and do some climbing, but I guess God had other plans..........DSC02584#2 DSC02585#3 DSC02588#4 I was driveing about 35mph on the left hand side of the one way rode (it was a 6 lane w/cement midiean,) spling?) and the vehical I was following swerved around a truck parked in my lane and  by the time I saw/reacked it was too late.
So now I am still trying to get my licence and the truck papers back. One person was hert because he was sitting on the back of the truck I hit. I'm not sure how he is doing, i hope to find out tomarrow. But everyone else was ok PTL. So know its just a matter of trying to get the truck fixed and get my licence back. also pray for the guy that fell off that he will recover soon.
Its one of thoughs things, I don't know way God let this happen but I trust that it will be for His or my better if I'll let Him lead.
    Well thats all for know.
